Updates to Syariah Court Safety Measures in Phase 2 Heightened Alert

In view of Covid-19 Phase 2 (Heightened Alert), the Syariah Court will continue its prevailing safe management measures for Court users. Additionally, the following measures are implemented with immediate effect.

1) Child Interviews 

All child interviews for hearings scheduled between 17 May 2021 and 11 June 2021 (both dates inclusive) are cancelled. We will reach out to the affected cases on specific directions by the Court.

2) Appointment-based filing transactions 

A person who has completed the Marriage Counselling Programme and wishes to file the Originating Summons for Divorce is to make an appointment at the Court Registry. An applicant who wishes to file a Summons for Variation may also make an appointment to reduce the waiting time. Please contact our Call Centre at 63548371 for the appointment to be arranged.

3) Trace-Together-Only-Safe-Entry

Trace Together-only-Safe Entry has been implemented nationwide from 17 May 2021. All visitors to the Syariah Court will be required to check-in using a Trace Together app or token and undergo temperature scanning at the entrance of the building. A mask must be worn at all times.

Everyone must remain vigilant, practise safe distancing and observe other applicable measures to minimise the risk of community transmission of COVID-19.
