Launch of New E-Services on the SYC Portal

The Syariah Court will be launching the following new E-Services on the SYC Portal from 13 August 2026

Filing of Originating Summons for Non-Divorce applications

1. Users may now file an Originating Summons (“OS”) for Non-Divorce proceedings via the SYC E-Services Portal for the following types of applications:

  • Nullity of Marriage
  • Other originating applications under the Administration of Muslim Law Act ("AMLA") including an application under sections 51, 52(1) and 52(2) of AMLA where there has not been any proceedings for divorce or nullity of marriage between the parties in the Court, sections 54 and 101 of AMLA, or any other provision in AMLA, whether in the current or subsequent versions, for which there is no other specific E-Service in the SYC Portal

2. Upon submission of the OS for Non-Divorce, users will be able to track the status of their filing via the SYC E-Services Portal, and an email notification will be sent, with any remarks accessible via the SYC Portal.

Filing of Documents in Non-Divorce proceedings and proceedings pursuant to section 46A(4) of AMLA

4. After an OS for Non-Divorce or an OS pursuant to section 46A(4) of AMLA has been accepted, users may file other documents in the proceedings, including:

  • all affidavits;
  • all notices;
  • all summonses, including amended summons;
  • amended case statement for nullity, memorandum of defence for nullity and amended memorandum of defence for nullity;
  • certificate under section 17 of the Legal Aid and Advice Act;grant of aid and provisional grant of aid; and
  • any other document required to be filed in the proceedings
